Birth and Early Education
Nahas Angula was born on August 22, 1943, in Onyaanya, Namibia.
He began his education at Onyaanya Primary School in 1959 and attended Oniip Primary Boys School until 1962.
Higher Education and Activism
Angula continued his education at Ongwediva College in 1962. His academic excellence earned him a place at Nkhumbi International College in Zambia, and he later pursued a degree at the University of Zambia in the 1970s.
He also spent time in the United States, studying at Columbia University in New York, where he obtained a Master's degree. In 1967, Angula became an activist with the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) and spent the period 1967-1989 in exile in Zambia.
